GPG Public Key

Download my public key from here.

Why use GPG?

Thanks to the design of the e-mail system, it is impossible to verify the countenance of a regular message or send secure messages. PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is an elegant way to do both, but it is both commercial and patent-encumbered. GPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is a fully functional replacement that is distributed under the GNU General Public License.

To send me encrypted data

Refer to the Instant GPG Howto to find out how this works on your operating system.

To verify whether a message you have received from me is actually signed by me

  1. gpg --import < mkb.asc (Adds my public key to your key ring.)
  2. gpg --verify < message.txt (Verifies the message.)

Many mail clients can be configured to do this almost transparently by working with GPG. I use GPGMail for Apple's Mail.
