(location TBA) starting at 6:00 P.M.
NEWS, Dec 10. Here are both Problem set 4 and
Reading report 4. Recall that PS4 is optional and the due date is Monday, December 17. The
report is due on the day of the final exam.
NEWS, Dec 6. A bit late, but here's the second midterm's
answer key.
NEWS, Nov 28. Another two announcements:
- The answer key for PS3 is ready. I've divided it in two parts. The
first one has solutions to exercises 1 to 4. The second one
contains the answers to the remaining problems.
- The midterm review session has been scheduled for Friday, November 30, from 4:00 to 6:00
PM. As soon as I know it, I'll announce the room where we are meeting.
NEWS, Nov 26. Two announcements for today:
- I've made a change to the office hours schedule: From now on (and until the end of the
semester), they are on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, or by appointment.
- Reading report 3 is ready to go. The due date is Wednesday,
December 5, in class.
NEWS, Nov 25. Since Midterm 2 is coming soon, I've posted a
Midterm review sheet to help you study for the test.
NEWS, Nov 14. Here's Handout 6 ready to go. It will be helfpul
to answer Problem set 3.
NEWS, Nov 1. Here's the Answer key for the Midterm.
NEWS, Oct 29. I've put up this Midterm review sheet
to help you prepare for the test. Hope you find it helpful!
NEWS, Oct 25. As promised, here's the Answer key for Problem
set 2. Also, here's the Midterm of Summer 2007. Hope they help!
NEWS, Oct 24. Since we're going to use it somewhat intensively, I'm posting
Handout 5, which explains the basics of present values. Also, I'd
like to make a summary of what's ahead:
- The midterm is scheduled for Wednesday, October 31, during class time. The format: Three
questions, choose two.
- I'll post the answer key for PS2 no later than Thursday evening. Of course, this implies
that any problem received after Thursday at 4:30PM will not be accepted for credit.
- The midterm for Summer 2007 will be posted at the same time as the answer key for PS2.
NEWS, Oct 19. I've posted a couple of files which may be useful for your midterm review.
These are slides I had for Chapter 5, Chapter
6 and Chapter 7. Note that I will be using the last set of
slides today. Hope these are useful!
NEWS, Oct 15. Here's Part 2 of Problem set 2. You should turn
it in, together with Part 1, by Monday, October 22.
NEWS, Oct 10. A small typo on Problem set 2 has been corrected.
The references to Exercise 1 that were made in Exercises 3 and 4 obviously referred to
Exercise 2, not Exercise 1. Check the "Last Revised" date (it should be today).
NEWS, Oct 9. I have several new files for you:
- First, here's Part 1 of Problem set 2. You need to turn it in whenever
Part 2 of the problem set is due. I'm posting it now so you can start working on it.
- Here's Reading report 2. The due date is Wednesday, October 17.
- Finally, as promised, here's the Answer key for Problem set 1.
Let me know if this is helpful to you!
NEWS, Oct 7. I've posted Handout 4 for your convenience. It
includes the formal derivation of the Competitive Equilibrium (as seen in Friday's lecture), and
additional details on how to set up the social planner's problem.
NEWS, Sep 26. Several news today!
- I've corrected a small typo in Problem Set 1, right in Exercise 8.
The typo was that I hadn't provided a specific functional form for the production function, so the
Exercise didn't make too much sense. It's fixed now.
- For the firm's profit maximization problems, you may benefit from what's written in
Handout 2.
- Exercise 6 in Problem Set 1 is now a part of Problem Set 2. You need not turn it in.
- The due date of Problem Set 1 is this Friday, September 28.
- Today's class is conveniently summarized in Handout 3.
Note: You may want to hit Refresh a couple of times
so that the updated Problem Set 1 is actually downloaded (The "Last Revised" date should be
today).
NEWS, Sep 21. Regarding today's lecture, here's Handout 1 so you
can have it as a reference. We'll do the firm's problem on Monday.
NEWS, Sep 19. Here's Problem set 1 ready for you. Tentative turn-in
date is Friday, Sep 28, although this is not (yet) set in stone.
NEWS, Sep 10. Here are the Business cycle facts slides that we'll
be using on Wednesday's lecture.
NEWS, Sep 6. Here's Reading report 1 so you can start working on
it. The due date is Friday, September 14.
NEWS, Sep 4. The class webpage is up and running! Also, I've posted both the
Class syllabus and a very brief
Math refresher which should provide enough background of the calculus
requirements we will need for the class. (No further knowledge beyond Math 1271 is assumed.)
