Treated Lumber Treated Green Douglas Fir

United Pacific Forest Products keeps a full line inventory of pressure treated lumber on the ground in Woodland, California. The wood is treated with Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ) an arsenic/chromium free product that is specially formulated to address stringent environmental concerns. It is guaranteed to protect against rot, decay and termite attack. It is ideal for retaining walls, decks and environmentally sensitive areas. ACQ lumber is clean, odorless, non-staining and non-irritating to humans, animals, and plants. ACQ meets all building code requirements and is the best alternative to traditional CCA treated wood. In addition to the normal ACQ we also carry a brown-tone line as well.

Chapter 7A- California Building Code

In most cases the changes to the California Building Code, (WUIBS), will only apply to new construction effective 01/01/08. Fire Hazard Severity Zones, (FHSZ), have been mapped by Cal Fire. The code changes apply to all State Responsibility Areas, (SRA). Local building officials will be able to determine Chapter 7A on a per address basis. To determine whether Chapter 7A provisions apply to a given address please go to the following link:
http://firecenter.berkeley.edu/fhsz/.

Specific changes in the SRA beginning 01/01/08 will include:
  • Exterior Siding
  • Exterior Wall Vents
  • Exterior Doors
  • Windows
  • Decking Surfaces
  • Floor Projections
Other changes will include a Defensible Space.
