Department of Economics
Graduate Program

The deadline for students who wish to be considered for fellowships, teaching assistantships and admission to the program is December 31, 2007 . Applications must be complete by the deadline to be considered. Since it can take some time to process application materials, we suggest that you submit them at least 2 weeks before the deadlines to ensure that your application is completed on time.

We will consider applications submitted after that date, but they are given a lower priority. Applicants are strongly suggested to submit applications no later than the end of January, 2008 to avoid rejection due to a lack of space in the program.

We consider applications for Fall semester only because not enough of the first year courses start in other terms to provide an adequate start to the program. Application materials must be sent to either the Graduate School or the Department. Please read the instructions carefully to see how each piece is to be submitted.

Although the department tries to keep track of applications and prevent mistakes, we are not infallible. Application processing may be delayed if you send information to the wrong place and to avoid confusion, we urge you to upload as many materials to the Graduate School application as possible. Links to forms that need to be filled out are available below.

Departmental Application

You must submit a Departmental application in addition to your application for admission. This application is required and provides us with some additional information required to make admission and financial aid decisions.
