Department of Economics

The Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has had a tight connection with the Economics Department for over 25 years. A connection born in the time of the development of the policy implications of the Rational Expectations approach, it is a bond that remains strong to this day. The Research Department has developed into a strong research group in it’s own right and is the center for the Institute for Empirical Macroeconomics. It is the host of an active visitors program, a seminar series, and has hosted a variety of conferences over the years.
