Curious about the former Soviet Union? Here is a link to get to what should be the Kyrgyzstan Freenet Home Page. The "/kfn/index.html" listed URL seems to often be out of service. When working this provides further links to Central Asian WWW sites like the Bishkek Flash, the first student published WWW newspaper in Kyrgyzstan, and the Kyrgyz News Digest. Kyrghyzstan was formerly a republic of the the now defunct USSR. A friend, Garth Willis, worked in Bishkek during 1995-97, the capital of Kyrghyzstan. He was instrumental in getting some of his students to publish the Bishkek Flash. The Bishkek Flash was located at "http://www.irex.org/kfn/flash/flashdec95/flash.html". As Garth has returned to the USA, the future of Flash is uncertain. It has moved around a bit in the past, but was last seen at the Kyrgyzstan Freenet Home Page at "http://www.irex.org/kfn/index.html".
