Walker Arts Center & Embrace concert & June 29th 2005
Here are some pictures taken from my visit to the Walker Arts Center which was recently renovated with rave reviews. The pictures are from the outside and from the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Also, picture taken with my cell phone during the Embrace concert... they're coming back in August, and I can't wait for the next gig. Finally, some pictures taken on June 29th, just another ordinary day. (Seriously!!!)

Korea June 2005
Here are some pictures taken from my two-week vacation in Korea. Like always I met my family and friends, had tons of good Korean food (adding more gratuitous fat), and enjoyed some cultural life (going to the new museum and to the old palace). Here are some pictures taken.

Singapore and Bintan 2005
Here are some pictures taken from Singapore and Bintan(Indonesia). I was there for the Chinese New Year's holiday and it was a huge family gathering... my parents and my oldest brother's family coming from Korea and myself from Minneapolis to see my older brother in Singapore. Well, if you get to enjoy so much sun and the crystal blue ocean in the middle of the winter, what more would you expect?
Sue's Birthday at Chino Latino 2005
January is a season to celebrate people's birthday, at least for me. Somehow all my female friends turned 18 this year, and same thing for our Sue. We celebrated the birthday at Chino Latino, a posh (bit pretentious though) place for late night hangout.

Mafer's Birthday and the Unsolved Mystery 2005
Here are some pictures taken from Mafer's birthday. Mafer turned 18 and we all celebrated her youthful birthday... wait, I wonder if you can get married in the US when you're a minor... Anyways, take a look at picture No.5. The picture of Nicolas is almost transparent! Yes, as if he never existed.... Is this an unsolved mystery or what???
An Experimental Try at Sushi 2005
Before the new semester began, we (me, Maria Fernanda, Sue, and Julián) took a little attempt at making different sorts of sushi. It didn't turn out to be what you would normally expect in Japanese restaurants since we were no sushi maestros. Some look strikingly different (the shrimp), while some look moderately similar... Here are different pictures taken at the party.
New Year's Eve in Minneapolis 2004
This was the first time that I spent the New Year's Eve in Minnesota, and to 'cherish' this 'special' moment, we (Maria Fernanda, Sue, and Julián) had a little gathering and had a little fondue party. Yes, I heard it's a very short-lived fad back in the 70s... well, we just felt a bit 'retro'.

This year, I went to New York for Christmas, and it turned out to be much more fun than I had ever imagined! I put the pictures temporarily in different folders and I will put explanations when I have more time... In the meantime, enjoy the pictures...

This year, I didn't go to New York to spend Thanksgiving with my aunt's family, but rather stayed in Minneapolis. Since all of the Gang were staying, we organized a little turkey feast at the house of the Makarski family. The turkey and various dishes (another picture) turned out to be all very good... maybe too good and I had to suffer consequences from eating too much the next day. While waiting for the turkey, we had fun time playing with the two babies, Ola and Felix, and the favorite babysitter had come again. So enjoy the pictures from babysitting...1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. All the pictures were taken by Sue. After the huge meal, we watched The Elf, which greatly facilitated our sleepiness. I didn't like the movie at all. Afterwards, people got very tired and all we did was to watch little baby Ola playing. This is when Ola was taking a big interest in my cell phone.

To celebrate Patrycja's 22nd(!!!) birthday, we went to this posh downtown bar called Nochee. Here are some pictures taken inside. This one is with Julián who looks a bit wasted already, and these are taken with Yelena, the Russian bombshell, and me trying to make some indecent moves on her, this one with Alex who was visiting from University of Barcelona, and finally myself trying to look not too wasted. Also we had a little party at Julian and Mafer's place where they made a nice lasagne a la Bolognese, it was complemented by Sue's spinach salad, my (Baker's Square) apple pie and Javi and Rosa's ice cream. Too bad we don't have pictures of the food, but just some pictures of myself indulging on taking self-portraits. Also this goofy one with me trying hard to make Felix smile...
